PACE OF PLAY - TIPS

-
Cat Fight is the Format of Play, after double bogie pick up your ball. Zero points are earned on that hole.
-
Hit when ready. The first player that is ready should be the first to hit and so on. Do not insist on playing honors.
-
Don't start a conversation with a player when that player is up. Do not talk when a player is teeing off or playing a shot.
-
If you are the cart driver, drop off the passenger at their ball and immediately go to your ball. Do not wait for them to hit their shot before going to your ball.
-
If you are the passenger and the driver is "away", then take your club selection and walk to your ball. After your shot, walk to the cart or down the fairway. Don't wait for the driver to pick you up.
-
Take only one practice swing. If you take multiple practice swings, practice before it's your turn so that you are ready to hit.
-
Simplify your "set up" routine. Your "set up" routine is important, but it doesn't need to be so elaborate that it is time consuming.
-
If you are unsure of which club you want to hit, take several clubs then send the cart driver on to their ball.
-
Return to the cart with clubs in your hand. Drive/ride to the next shot before placing the clubs in your golf bag.
-
Always be aware of the gap between you and the group ahead. Especially if you are the "B" group teeing off on the same starting hole. There shouldn't be more than half a hole open between you and the "A" group. If you fall a full hole behind, politely advise your group to pick up the pace or allow the group behind you to play through.
-
Line up your putt before it's your turn, so when it is your turn, you are ready to putt. Do not move when a golfer is putting.
-
If you are ready to putt and the player "away" is not; you can putt first, as long as the ball is not on the same line of putt.
